PK Custom Cues
Based in Wichita, Kansas, PK Custom Cues is the work of cue maker Cody Cash, whose approach to cue building is rooted in both playability and precision engineering. Like many respected makers, Cody’s interest in cue making grew naturally from years spent at the table, developing a deep understanding of how a cue should feel and respond in a player’s hands.
When I attended the Super Billiards Expo earlier this year, several cue makers specifically told me to take a closer look at Cody’s work. I heard a lot of positive things not only about the quality of his cues, but also about Cody himself and the level of care and effort he puts into his craft. After examining his work in person, it was easy to understand why his cues have earned that kind of respect within the cue-making community.
Rather than relying solely on standard equipment, Cody designed and modified much of his own machinery to achieve the level of precision he wanted in tapering, inlays, and joint work. While he enjoys working with highly figured exotic woods and burls, performance always comes first, with each cue carefully cored for stability and a consistent hit.
Still building cues part-time while balancing a full-time career and family life, Cody produces cues in very limited numbers. PK Custom Cues reflects the mindset of a maker focused not on volume, but on constantly refining the highest standard of work he can personally stand behind.
