Arthur - "Imbuya Garland"
“Imbuya Garland” is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship and unmistakable design language of Arthur Cues. Built by Marcus Dienst, this cue combines deep Makassar Ebony, beautifully figured Imbuya, and creamy-white Super Tusk in a design that is elegant, distinctive, and unmistakably Arthur.
The forearm is built from Makassar Ebony, whose deep chocolate and nearly black tones create a dramatic foundation. Set into the forearm are long, razor-sharp points of figured Imbuya and Super Tusk. The warm golden-brown Imbuya and bright Super Tusk create a beautiful contrast against the dark Ebony, giving the cue tremendous depth without making the design feel overly busy.
My favorite detail is the incredible “Garland” ring work found throughout the cue. Each individual ring contains 30 precisely fitted inlays, coming together to create the intricate garland pattern. This is one of Marcus’s highest-grade ring designs, and the amount of precision and craftsmanship involved becomes even more impressive when viewed up close.
The butt sleeve continues the same theme, bringing Makassar Ebony, Imbuya, and Super Tusk together with long, sharp geometric elements that echo the forearm. A simple black leather wrap keeps the center clean and allows the elaborate woodwork and ring work to take center stage.
