Jack Justis - 3x6 Like New 2010

For many collectors and players, a Jack Justis case is far more than a way to carry pool cues. It represents an era, a passion, and a connection to some of the most memorable years in our game. This particular case was made in 2010 and came from a very good friend of mine on the East Coast. He told me he had acquired it from a collector who kept it in a safe for more than fifteen years and never used it. When I first saw the case, I honestly couldn't believe the condition. Despite being over fifteen years old, it appeared almost untouched. The leather had aged beautifully, the tooling remained crisp, and the overall presentation was exactly what collectors hope to find but rarely do. I not only couldn't say no to it—I happily paid my friend's full asking price.

What surprised me even more happened while I was taking photographs for the website, I found myself carefully inspecting every inch of it, almost determined to find some sign of use. After all, this is a sixteen-year-old case. Surely there had to be a worn corner, a mark on the leather, a scratch on the legs, or some evidence that it had lived a life.

But there wasn't.

I checked the lid, the pockets, the straps, the handle, the bottom, and every edge I could find. The more I looked, the more I realized there simply wasn't any meaningful sign of use at all. It was one of those rare moments when an item completely exceeded my expectations.

And suddenly, I felt like I understood the original owner.

I did exactly the same thing myself.

Back in 2017, I ordered a custom case from Jack. When it arrived, I inspected it, admired it, put it back into the original box, taped the box shut, and stored it away. I never put a cue inside it. In fact, I didn't even open it again until last night. To someone outside the cue world, that probably sounds strange.
